Washing
To begin, always read the care label!
This tiny strip of fabric tells you everything you need to know about what to do and what to avoid with your specific shirt.
• Machine wash on a warm, gentle cycle
• Use a mild detergent, avoid harsh chemicals or bleach
• Wash with similar colours to maintain clarity and tone
• Turn the shirt inside out to protect the fabric surface
• Always remember to remove the collar stays from your shirt before washing, as leaving them in can damage both the stays and the fabric during the cycle.
• Do not overload the machine; this will prevent the shirt from moving freely and ensure a more even, effective clean.

Most of our shirts are crafted from 100% cotton or cotton blends and are suitable for gentle machine washing or dry cleaning, where preferred.
We suggest mild, fragrance-free detergents, as well as avoiding fabric softeners. If there are no noticeable stains, simply wash your shirts on a gentle cycle to minimise strain and wear on key areas like buttons and seams.
Stains
For small stains, spot clean with a mild detergent and allow it to sit for a few minutes before washing. For more stubborn stains, we recommend professional dry cleaning.
Drying

How you dry your shirt is just as important as how you wash it.
• Reshape the shirt while damp
• Air dry on a hanger to maintain structure
• Avoid high heat tumble drying, as it can cause fading, shrinkage, and fabric damage in the long run.
• If using a dryer, select a low heat setting and remove promptly
Ironing & Steaming
For a refined, effortless finish:
• Check the temp: Fine fabrics require different heat levels; always check the label for the proper setting.
• Your best bet for crisp, crease-free shirts is to iron them while still slightly damp to more easily reduce wrinkles.
• Start with the collar, then cuffs, sleeves, and body
• For darker fabrics, iron on the reverse side to avoid shine
• For delicate fabrics like lyocell and silk, keep them at a low temperature

Alternatively, steaming offers a softer, more relaxed finish:
• Steam while the shirt is hanging to gently release creases
• Ideal for delicate fabrics or quick refreshes between wears
• Helps maintain the natural drape without flattening the fabric
Storage

The way a shirt is handled between wears defines its longevity.
• Always hang on a well-shaped hanger to retain structure
- We recommend avoiding wire hangers, as they offer minimal support and can cause creases.
• Fasten the top button to support the collar
• Avoid overcrowding in the wardrobe
• Use breathable garment space, natural fibres benefit from airflow
Travel Care

For work trips and travel, a few simple habits will help keep your shirt looking sharp on arrival.
• Fold carefully along natural seams to reduce deep creasing
• Alternatively, use a garment bag for maximum protection
• Place shirts on top of heavier items in your luggage to avoid crushing
• Keep collars folded down and cuffs flat when packing
• If space allows, roll softer shirts lightly to reduce fold lines
On Arrival
• Hang shirts immediately to release light creases
• Use a steamer in the bathroom or a handheld steamer if needed
• Avoid ironing heavy travel creases directly without steam first
